I’m so glad you’re here.
Hi! I’m Dr. Samantha Klim…
Most people just call me Sam. I am a Licensed Naturopathic Doctor that is crazy passionate about Mothering new mothers and supporting women in finding their power and vitality!
I believe, and have witnessed first-hand, that adequate Women’s healthcare, especially for mothers, is non-existent in our current medical system and I am hoping to change that by dedicating my practice to serving Women, Mothers and folks at any stage in their reproductive journey.
While studying at Bastyr University here in WA state to become a Naturopath, I worked as a birth and loss doula which is what informed my path and passion for working with and for Women and growing families. I was, and still am, in awe at the power of creating new life, giving birth and raising tiny humans from scratch!
I have worked with many families and seen many new parents struggle with their health especially after pregnancy and birth and I have seen how many people fall through the cracks and do not receive adequate care, support or celebration after giving birth. I have seen other doctors minimize or completely ignore life changing and devastating symptoms many women experience. I have seen many women facing infertility, hormone issues, menstrual symptoms and never offered real solutions. I have years of experience working with folks with mental health conditions, infertility, hormone imbalance, digestive issues, thyroid dysfunction, autoimmunity, pelvic floor dysfunction, burn out and many other common ailments that Women and mothers face.
I started Trillium Naturopathic after completing a 2 year accredited residency, to create a business model that truly serves families in a way that not only treats disease and imbalance, but seeks to prevent it and creates the opportunity for true health in pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.
Personally, I am a Midwest transplant- born and raised in Michigan but happy to call Washington my new forever home. I have always been passionate about Mothers, children, health and the environment. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I believe it is my responsibility to be an environmentalist first- and so everything I do is in the framework of protecting and nourishing the ultimate Mother, Mother Earth. I believe that supporting Women and Mothers is the best way to improve the health of entire families, communities and ecosystems.
Over my adult years I have studied, practiced and taught Yoga and many different earth based spiritual practices from around the world. I have completed a Permaculture design certification course and done many other “extracurriculars” relating to Earth, plant medicine, traditional knowledge and spirituality. All of these wisdoms inform my unique and broad perspective.
When I am not with patients or working on my business, I am loving on my sweet fur baby, exploring the great outdoors with my beloved husband, reading fantasy books, gardening and cooking.
Acknowledgments
I primarily work with female identifying, female bodied individuals- however these services are intended for everyone who can give birth and I acknowledge that not all birthing people identify as Mothers or Women. I hold space for the feminine in all forms.
I acknowledge that many traditional teachings and practices on postpartum care and natural medicine originate from Indigenous cultures around the world. I acknowledge that I am a settler on the land of the Duwamish Tribe and Coast Salish peoples. I honor the wisdom of the indigenous peoples and their ancestors.
